Blue Cash Preferred Upgrade

Well Amex has declined my last couple CLI on Amex Blue, but for some reason they notified me for an upgrade opportunity to the Blue Cash Preferred. I went ahead and did the upgrade, which is an improvement on my other rewards cards. I'm wondering if this will help with a limit increase in the future or doesn't impact it at all. O well, regardless I appreciate the upgrade. I just thought it was curious they sent me that right after I requested the increase. Any thoughts?

Whats your limit, and your income level?

You may be maxed out with the amount they are willing to extend to you.

Re: Blue Cash Preferred Upgrade

My limit is $5,000 and my income level is $35,000. Utilization % is low across my cards and I use the card about $1,500 monthly which is always paid off. I'm happy to have an Amex card considering where I've been in the past, just struggle with getting an increase. I realize my income isn't the greatest but I don't see the problem. My Fico is 676.

Re: Blue Cash Preferred Upgrade

Thats a good limit with your current financial standing.

The BCP is the best card I carry.  The 75 AF is easily covered.  I earn rough 60 cash rewards a month on this card.

I love it.  My limit is 9700, but I have had the card for 9 years.

Re: Blue Cash Preferred Upgrade

Okay, thanks for the responses everyone. I figured it was my income level for the most part, perhaps prior charge-offs, etc. prior to 2007. I appreciate your help.
