BoA CLI noob question UPDATE APPROVED 9/11

Hi all

I opened my BankAmericard on 6/8/2018.  For the last few days, the request cli link has appeared.  Ive heard that BoA is now doing SP increases but when I click the link, I get this message

"By clicking the "Submit" button, you authorize us to obtain a copy of your credit report and review your credit and employment histories and any other information that allows us to process your request, service your account and manage our relationship with you. Upon request, we will inform you of the name and address of any consumer reporting agency that provided reports to us."

This doesnt sound like sp language to me. Is this the normal disclosure everyone gets?

Thanks

>3/2016 EX 644 CK-TU 642 CK-EQ 660 WalMart- 671.
>7/2025 All 3 reports 830 - 845(F8) F9s = all 850 but my app finger is still twitching

Re: BoA CLI noob question

The reports gained from a HP and a SP are basically the same. The only real difference is the HP is usually a record of a consumer initiated request for credit. BofA is SP now, but they're still pulling your credit.

Re: BoA CLI noob question

Several of the SP Prequal sites have similar language, although they also say "this will not affect your credit score," tipping off a SP vs. HP.

I don't know firsthand with BoA but various DPs suggest it's safe to proceed. If it was me, I'd probably wait to first hear from someone who has seen that screen and proceeded unscathed.

As you have a relationship with BoA you will not need to unfreeze your bureaus for them to access your files.

Your FICO credit scores are not just numbers, it’s a skill.

BoA “mostly” use TU for SP CLIs.

New cc TLs : 0/6 ; 0/12 ; 0/24 | HPs EX 3 EQ 3 TU 4 | AAoA 8y1m | UTIL 1% - 4% | $300K+ Total Limits

+1

Generally, yes.  However, there are situations in which it may not be (additional revew required).  If your CL doesn't change within a few days, then it's declined.

Re: BoA CLI noob question

Did you unfreeze your TU? If you didn’t, that could be a reason for the message. Even though it’s a SP, they still require that you remove the freeze. It happened to me. Then I got approved after unfreezing and calling in.
Another reason could be length of account being open. 3 months may be a little too soon but ymmv on this. One of my accounts was opened just over 4 months ago and not elegible for CLI yet.
