First some OT stuff
Moving in about a week or so, and apparently the zip code I'm moving to is soooooooooo bad according to AAA that my auto insurance premium is gonna jump by 50%!!! After shopping around, GEICO came back with a number that was literally half what AAA was quoting me, and I truly and honestly thought the computer made an error. Phoned in, spent 20 minutes on the phone triple checking everything with the agent and it checked out. So definitely jumping ship as soon as I move.
Then I figured what best way to get even more Uncle-Sam-free money by grabbing a new card and hitting the SUB in one shot. I'm at 6/24 so Chase was out, but BoA's Travel Rewards currently has a $250/1k spend bonus. Thing is I already grabbed a Premium Rewards and an Ameriprise Plat back in October last year, and also took a triple pull just 2 weeks ago due to the stpid rental agency being anal (grrr). Decided if I got denied, I could always beg the analyst to just shift my CLs around.
Pulled the trigger, and came back with a 17k approval. I was actually quite suspiciuos of that number, because when I applied for the Premium Rewards last October, the computer also gave me a 17k approval, but took some CL away from my cash rewards. Sure enough when I checked, my CR dropped from 22.5K to 10.3K (my OCD is already killing me), but thankfully my PR CL stayed put at 17K. So I'm still at a net gain of 4.8K, but I really wish the stupid computer would stop playing CL musical chairs and trigger my OCD and PTSD at the same time lol. Maybe time to call the recon line and ask them to swap the CLs around again?
Edit: Call recon line, analyst could not override computer to give me more, but was able to shuffle limits around so now I'm at 14.3K on CR, 15K on PR anad 15K on TR. My OCD is slightly less triggered now.
Edit 2: Rang up Barclays and got a 3x CLI on my Uber Visa from 5k to 15k. Figured I'd get this done before the new account starts reporting and Sir Barclays freaks out.

Grats on the new card and yeah BoA will reallocate limits for you without a problem. They will always pull credit from other cards if they need to in order to approve a new one if they cannot grant additional unsecured credit. You hit a nerve with AAA Ins. In the most absurd state for car insurance costs (Mich) AAA has gone nuts, their quoted premium to me was over 500, I got better coverage with a mutual carrier for less than 300. AAA used to have some of the cheapest insurance in the states I have lived in but not anymore.
Yeah I switched to AAA after an unfortunate accident where everybody was at fault and Geico doubled my rates (it was a 7-car pileup and I guess the cops didn't want to deal with the hassle of assigning fault). AAA was about 15% cheaper at the time so it made sense. But seems like Geico forgives fairly quickly, because the new rates will be half of what AAA wants to charge me, and I'm not having any of that.
Congrats on approval and CLI !!!!
This is one of the reasons I won't bite on BofA's messages to me inviting me to get their Travel card--I don't want to risk them moving anything from the $50,000 limit card I currently have with them.
