Wasn't instant but I logged in and saw it was approved just a bit ago.  So stocked

So from 500 to 10.5k in 1 YEAR

Hello,

did your BOA start off as a secured card?  That is a crazy CLI trajectory!  I got a BOA secured card in Aug. 2013.  I'm hopeful I'll be able to update to a Visa Siganture after the 12mos period.  What was your strategy?  How did you get such awesome CLIs?

Mine was not secured.  I was denied even a secured when I first started out this time last year, I had no good credit only negative accounts.  When I called BOA for recon they offered the secured and to be honest I refused LOL I said I didn't want to have to use my money to build my credit, that it wouldn't prove I could be good with it so they gave me a chance and gave me a $500 limit and I've received a couple auto CLI and have requested a couple and now at the 10.5k.

Oh, also this is my go to card for most everything! I pay almost all my bills on it, groceries, gas, clothes etc.  And always make more than the minimum payment, if they think the CL isnt accomadating you they will increase.

I think it's safe enough to say that BofA keeps some guideline on borderline new applicants which affords their sales pitch for that secured card offer.
I was initially computer denied but recon department overturned it the very next day into an instant approval with no fuss. 1000 SL.
The day before the new 123 card landed in the mail was their prequalified application.
