BofA APR reduction and conversion to Visa Signature

Hey all, just wrapped up a phone call with the EO office and came away with a couple things I didn't think were gonna be possible...

As you may have read in previous posts, my card started off fully secured in 2011 for $500 and a 20.24%APR. Graduated at 11 months with a 2x CLI to $1k, APR stayed the same. Always current, balances reported varied to see if anything would trigger an auto-CLI, but never got one, and I never requested one as I just didn't want a hard pull.

After 4 years, I called in to see if there was a lower APR for me, the frontline CSR told me none available, maybe with a HP. I thought about and a few days later asked for HP CLI, asking for $10k. Due to a fraud alert, I had to wait for a call and ended up getting hit with a TU pull AND and EX pull, as my account wasn't showing on TU. they countered at $7.5k, I accepted and asked about a lower APR. at this point I was told that my account would never be eligible for a lower APR due to its original status as a secured card. I'd have to reapply for another card. I didn't want another card right now, and this is my oldest tradeline, so I was very frustrated.

A few days later after commenting on a post and advising to reach for the stars, the post's author said she had success going through EO. I tried it and today I got a call back. My MLB Platinum Rewards MC would be product changed to a Visa Signature and while apparently there really wasn't a lower APR in the system for me, they were able to lower it from 20.24% to 18.99%. Not a real big jump, but a victory nonetheless.

Sorry about the long post everybody, just wanted to share my story with you. This board has been great!

Re: BofA APR reduction and conversion to Visa Signature

Hopefully this card can keep growing with me. It really bummed me out when that first CSR said this card was stuck where it was at forever.
