The BofA card I cancelled and I replaced with CCR #1 3 years back was my very first CC! So even though that card is closed (useless World Points!) They still greet me with being a member since 2002 👍 (yes, I decided that that I was ok with retaining my AmEx at only a year younger as my oldest CC rather than a useless one).

Congrats on your BofA approval, APR decrease, retention offer and your overall success story . . . great accomplishments!!! ![]()
@unsungivy Thanks for the info on this. I called BofA just now and converted one of my BofA Business Advantage Customized Cash Rewards cards to a Visa! They said it would come in 10 business days and submitted my request. I also asked about an APR reduction and so forth but they said to wait until I get the Visa and then call about that because the APR might change in that process. We shall see what happens.

Good decision, I think that having both Visa and MC if it's an otherwise duplicate card is the way to go... hence my split on my Elan cards as well!

They're known for sometimes approving a card with the applicant discovering after the fact that they had silently reallocated some of the credit limit of an existing card. They've also been known to do something similar in response to a CLI request.
I'll keep an eye out for that. I know AmEx did it to me when I opened my BCP and it pissed me off. I'm not too concerned about being about to get both of the BofA cards to 25k each though, so if they did and I find out after the fact, will just be an annoyance to clean up.
Update: they did not split my existing credit line upon my opening the new card. Old card still showing 25k credit limit, new card showing 21k credit limit.
