I just got approved for Gettington. SL $400. All I really want is the more available credit. Can I also apply for Fingerhut? I Rather apply for a few cards at all once before the INQs hit my credit report. Was also thinking of getting Indigo.
Hey Cybe,
I'll just give you my honest opinion. I'm also in the process of rebuilding my credit. Part of the process was to examine how I got into the trap that I was once in. The bottom line was just I spent too much money on stuff that I didn't absolutely need.
I'm sure at this point I would get approved for gettington, wayfair and fingerhut.. But I may be tempted to spend money on stuff that I never intended on buying.
Please share with us more information so that we can give you a better understand your situation.
What are you current scores? Do you have any credit cards and how many? Let's start there...

Hi Tpark, I appreciate your concern. I am not really worried about buying stuff I don't need. I just have a weird job where one month I make 15k and the next few months ill make 2k or less. Ive paid 80k thought the last 2 years. I have a lot of cards that I used just to live off til bigger checks come in. What I want is to have storecards or retail cards with high available credit so when I do use my normal cards I dont take such a hit on my credit report. Currently my scores on MyFico are 629, 629 and 631.
Discover IT 2k limit, i have $1500 on it
Amex Delta Gold 1k limit, I have $200 on it
Amazon Store Card 1k limit. I have $900 on it. Christmass stuff. I'll pay it off soon
Merrik Bank $700 limit I have 0 balance
Credit One $650 limit I have $600 on it
Capital One Quicksilver $500 limit, I have 0 on it
Bank Of America Americard secured $99 for $500 limit. I have about $200 on it
Gettington $400 limit

Congrats on your Gettington approval!
I fear though that you are under the wrong impression. Anytime a financial institution pulls your credit report it is REAL TIME. Any card you apply to will see the Gettington pull.
I think what you may be referring to is the American Express "feature" where you can apply for two cards on one credit pull.

Thanks for the reply. Most of my other cards the INQs came in almost immediately. On fingerhut, so far only 1 credit bureau has responded. Experian.

Also wanted to caution that while having overall utilization low is important, having high utilization on a few cards will impact your credit score negatively. But more power to you!

Based on your current cards, adding FH is not going to improve your profile except for utilization...which lets face it, a FH approval with a low CL won’t even improve utilization much. I personally wouldn’t do it. What I would do, is lower my current utilization on my current cards. That will improve your profile greatly from what you’ve posted.
As for both cards....I honestly don’t know bc I haven’t seen anyone who wanted both...especially with your profile bc it’s not needed.

Thanks, until my job situation improves im stuck with this back and forth credit scores going up and down. I figured if I can get my available credit up then that would help the most. My Merrick Card and my Quicksilver card are in the drawer and I do not use unless an emergency.
