My spree ends here. This is my last card for at least the next 6 months. And that's it! Nothing else!

After my recent Synchrony/Sleep Number approval, I wanted some extra padding, since I'll be nearly maxing out the Sleep Number card for a while with the 36 month 0% special. (I didn't intend any pun by mentioning "padding" - but that would have been interesting, wouldn't it?)
The Bread Amex has been on my radar for a while, in part because it's a 2% card, and in part because it's got some Amex offers. (I got spoiled last year from having a second 2% cash back card, after Chase gave me an extra 1% on non-category spend on my Amazon Prime card for signing up for checking.) Bread is also known for high approvals, which helps with my credit padding - which is what I really wanted from this card.
Bread/Comenity approved me for $5K. They pulled Experian, which had a FICO 8 score of 700, and which now shows 694.
Here are the results of my spree and recent CLIs:
- $8,500 Synchrony/Sleep Number
- $5,000 Bread
- $3,000 Bank of the West
- $3,400 Wells Fargo CLI (Autograph - from $1700 to $5100)
- $500 Capital One CLI (SavorOne - from $5000 to $5500)
That's $20,400 in credit that I didn't have before my spree. I also got declined for a Venture X and a Barclays AAdvantage Red card. I'm going to stop now before Synchrony gives me the side eye 😂
This keeps my overall utilization below 26% - much higher than I want it to be, but still OK - while still paying no interest. As I pay down my 0% balances, my utilization will improve.
Edit: I also briefly considered the PayPal and SoFi Mastercards. The biggest issue for me with the PayPal card was that it's from Synchrony, which is the company that I just got approved with for Sleep Number. SoFi was promising for its SUB of an extra 1% cash back for the first year, but I wasn't as confident about getting a high SL with them, and they don't do CLIs.
