Is there a reason that people are suggesting to get the Venture card as opposed to the Chase Sapphire Preferred? Since I have the Arrival+ I didn't think it would make sense to get another cash back for travel card but maybe I'm missing something?
I think that people like the high limits that go along with the Venture. Lots of people have been getting them. Personally, I want a CSP to pair with my Freedom.

I have them both and don't favor one over the other as far as rewards are concerned. The one thing that really separates the two is the feel of that CSP in your hand ! Not just the extra weight, there's just something incredibly classy about that card ! I know that probably sounds a bit shallow, but it's my favorite card by far ! You know you want it.... GO for it !!
Approved for the Chase Sapphire Preferred. $7,900 starting limit. Since I run a lot on my card every month, ($5,000 between 2 cards last month) would it be worth calling and asking for an increase? It's the lowest limit I've got to date, but then again I don't want to look desperate for credit.

I think you'll get a nice automatc increase in like 3-6 months with that usage so I wouldn't bother.

Regarding asking for an increase, I have no experience in the matter but it seems like it would be worth a shot. When I received my Freedom I opted to activate it over the phone as I usually do, and instead of being fully automated I was actually transferred to a rep for the activation. Aside from activating the card he also asked if there was anything else I needed, and seemed very helpful overall. I'd activate your Sapphire via phone and ask the rep about an increase in order to match some of your other limits, as you spend a decent amount on your cards each month and would rather not worry about your utilization and having to micro manage payments mid cycle.
No idea if that will work, but I don't think it would hurt to ask and it seems like a reasonable request to me.
Best of luck if you do!
Congrats on the approval
