CSP and BCP Approval! *Update 0% APR CSP*

I decided to pull the trigger today on the two cards I had my eye on: The CSP and the Amex BCP. The BCP will come in handy because of the 6% in groceries. CSP I plan on PC'n to the CSR next year but did not want to apply for the CSR based on my DPs which I will list below.

CSP - SL $7000 and highest APR so I just barely made it. Does not matter as I PIF each month
BCP - SL $2000 which is OK I guess.  I will only be spending it on groceries so not a big deal. Did not catch the APR but it is 0% for twelve months. I PIF anyway.

Ex 712
Tu 748
Eq 746

Income $87,750 (just got a raise)

Best Buy Visa - $0 / $1500
Amex Delta Plat - $0 / $7300
Cap One Quicksilver - $0 / $2000
Chase Freedom Unlimited - $300 / $5700
Raymour & Flannigan TD Retail $0 / $8000
Amazon Store Card $0/$4000
AAoA 4 years 7 months

Baddies
May 2017 - 30 Days
May 2016 - 30 Days
August 2016 - 30 Days
September 2016 - 60 Days

The recent baddies are for sure the reason for the high APR on the CSP and the low limit on the BCE. I am going to spend the next year trying to get them removed. Sent out one wave of GW letters but TD Retail (2 30s and a 60) did not respond and CapOne (one 30) told me no so I am going to do a second round next week.

Here is an interesting DP: As soon as I submitted my app for the CSP I got an alert from the Experian app. It reported right away as expected but my score went from 712 to 717 with the HP. Odd, right? Why would this happen?

My Amex Delta Plat has an AF of $195 and I have about 30k Sky Miles. I was going to use them this year and PC it to the Blue Card once I use my companion pass. I got sick this year so I was unable to get any kind of status. Plus with UR I plan on transferring to travel partners. Since my limit is $7300 and I do not plan on using it all that much can I transfer $6000 to the new BCP to make that limit $8000? If so can I do that now? Was denied a 3X CLI on September 1st so I have to wait 90 days which is around December to ask again. What would be an ideal strategy to move around my Amex CLs? Idealy before I request to PC to the CSR I want my credit to age and have a limit of $10k on at least one card.

Moving forward I am in the garden for at least six months. I want to get the Ink Preferred in July 2019 to get the SUB and 3x on travel. I do not dine out as much as I travel as I normally cook at home. I likely spend about $300 a month in what Chase classifies as "dining". I do not think I need the Freedom Card but I will have to see what the catagories are. I do not pay for gas but do go to the gas station to buy gift cards as gifts or small things like coffee. I think now that I have the CSP/CFU combo I am pretty set but will like to get the Ink Preferred in 6-8 months depending on what my scores and total spend are like. With these two new cards and the CFU I am currently 3/24 so I am going to hold out. I was also thinking of getting the Mariott Card in a year because I usually stay at their properties by circumstance and have a decent cache of points from them.

Sorry for the long winded response lol But thank you to everyone who has helped me understand credit cards and offer sound, real life advice that let me accomplish my goal.

Re: CSP and BCP Approval!

AWESOME!! CONGRATS!! And, the more you write, the more I learn, so thank you!  I also app'ed CSP. I actually doble dipped in one day. So, June of this year '18, I app'ed and got CFU with SL $7k...I logged in last week to my acct, to see I reveived an auto CLI of +$5k!! Can you believe it? I was thriled. I used the card all the time, so they gave auto- love!! Feeling good, I dbl app'ed the CSP instant $10k SL and then Slate instant app for SL $3.2K (I know Iknow...nobody likes that card), but I got both apps within 35hrs on the same HP!!! They were green check offers. Chase has been great to deal w.  I have my car lease through them, as well!! CONGRATS AGAIN!! Smiley Happy

Re: CSP and BCP Approval!

Wow that is awesome Mark! I am hoping for auto luv too in a few months. I put through about $3000 through last statement and will likely do the same this month; maybe a little more actually. Those are great SL for you too! I am off to the garden for now but the rush of applying is similar to watching the roulette wheel lol

Re: CSP and BCP Approval!

You will get it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  They didnt even tell me. LoL. I logged n one day and had to rub my eyes when I saw my CL was $12k!!! And yes, keep moving money trhough it.  It's hard to get used to using your cc's for everything these days, so you can get rewards and bonus offers, instead of cash or debit and then paying bill every month. A crazy game! lol.  I also appp'ed the Amex Cash Magnet in Sept. 18' and got SL- $12k. It's an awesome card. I used it and got my $150 credit applied as soon as I hit the offer limit.  I ten ssaw I was pre-app'ed for the SPG hotel card annd Hilton Asp.  I went for the SPG and got SL $1k Smiley Sad  Can you imagine?  Where the heck can you go these day w your family for $1k..  LoL. Anyway, my point is be careful w Amex pre-apps.  No guarentees on good SL's. All the best Smiley Happy

Re: CSP and BCP Approval!

Nice approvals, ink Preferred is pretty sweet just remember ink cash gets 5x back and has no AF, albeit the SUB is only 50 instead of 80k. I got ink Preferred for year one and am PCing to ink cash in year 2. Getting ink cash and/or freedom is essentially like adding 5x categories to your Sapphire card, imo there's no reason not to do it since the cards have no AF and you're still under 5/24. Just look through freedoms category calendars over the last 3 years or so. Also if you have ink cash you can buy gift cards at office Depot for 5x UR back (better deal than whatever % off you'd get from a card at the gas station).
