Bit the bullet last night and decided to try for the Chase Sapphire Preffered with that sweet 100K bonus. I was hesitant since my file has 8 paid charge offs still showing, but my scores were 689 EX 705 EQ and 720 TU so I gave it a shot.
I was surprised when I got the approval but only for a SL of $5,000 but I'll take it! Some more data points for you all. AAoA is 5 years 10 months. 7 inquiries in the last year and 5 new accounts in the last year, 8 paid charge offs that fall off next year but I paid them a year ago. Scores listed above. Other cards I have are AMEX gold opened 4 months ago, PENFED PCR with a $15k limit, Cap One Venture with a $7,750 limit, USAA rewards with a $3,000 limit and a Paypal credit account with a $4,000 limit. I'm sitting at 2% utitilization now with a $65,000 annual income and a mortgage and car payment and DTI of %40. Hope that info helps someone on the fence!
