Got approved for CSP for 10k limit. Gonna be using this card for an upcoming trip to hit the bonus.
Anyone know if there's any downgrade path other than CF and CFU?
Congrats!
Well done. Congrats!
Congrats on the approval!
CSP is a great card to keep for most people, even with the AF.
But do your own calculations about the value.
Yes, you can downgrade to CF or CFU. But there is another option.
While you can't apply for the basic (old) "Sapphire" card (with no AF), word is that Chase will let you downgrade to it. This card will still earn 2X on dining and travel but it's only travel booked through the Chase UR portal, not the wider definition of travel on the CSP/CSR. You also won’t get the full set of benefits (like primary rental car insurance) and you’ll be subject to foreign transaction fees. (You get secondary rental car coverage and lesser protections on other travel.) Also, one of the biggest perks that you lose is the ability to transfer your Ultimate Rewards to travel partners. And you won't get the 25% bonus for travel redemptions through Chase UR portal earned on CSP; points earned are just worth 1 ccp.
Congrats on your CSP approval!
