As many can probably relate, I've never been one to have great credit. I've always been a bit envious of those that had steller scores. You know, the ones with their shiny little trophies tucked away in the folds of their wallets. 
To me, in a sense, it represented a symbol of responsibility and I wanted it. The credit score game can be unforgiving and for me at times felt like a constant uphill battle. Well, as of late I've been in a position to make it my priority and got my self in a pretty good spot with my eye on the prize... the Chase Sapphire Reserve.
Now, even though my scores got good, I still had a fair amount of derogatories on my profile, specifically on Experian. We have a big trip coming up next month so instead of waiting any longer I decided to say f-ck it, go big or go home! And applied for the CSR. My profile looks as followed:
750 - TransUnion (3-30 day lates)
725 - Experian (3-30 day lates, 8 year old charge off, 2 medical collections) The charge off will be coming off with-in days/months.
788 - Equifax (3-30 day lates, 2 medical collections)
Cap One: CL 6,000 - Chase Freedom: CL 3,000 - Bank Card: CL 5,000 - Synchrony: CL 500
Oldest Credit Line: 13 years
Credit Utilization: 2%
Inquiries: 1
Income: 70k
After applying I get the good ol 30 day message. I called the line and recieved the same thing. I was feverishly calling the line hoping for a new message and checking scores to see if there was any updates on inquiries. Days later (today) I see a single inquiry from... you guessed it, Experian! Ugh! My worst report. I was feeling a bit defeated and thought my chances were now slim. A few hours later I check my chase account and BAM!! The Sapphire Reserve was sitting there along side my Chase Freedom. I think the smile on my face was stuck for a mere 45 minutes lol. Called the number again to see if it changed and low and behold... A congratulations! You have been Approved! 18k SL

Seriously... only smiled for 45min? No... Yes!, maybe a light shreek of joy? I actually scared my dogs when mine was approved.
