Cap1 CLI and 2-3 message

I got approved for a Cap1 CLI ($250) on my QS but got a 2-3 day message on my QS1. Both were opened the same day (under the old 2 cards 1 set of pulls method). My 12th statement cuts on the 6th. I know that a 2-3 day message usually means denial, but since I did get a CLI on the other card is it possible to still get a CLI?

Re: Cap1 CLI and 2-3 message

Have you gotten a CLI on that card in the last 6 months? If you haven't it is possible. If you have-CapOne is so specific on the 6 mo rule. It has to be 6 mo and one day.

Re: Cap1 CLI and 2-3 message

If you are not utilizing one of the cards, most likely the reason will be "utilization too low".

I've been using them roughly equally, but this could be a possibility. My last CLI on them was when my July statement cut on 7/6, so it isn't too early otherwise my QS wouldn't have gotten an increase either. That why I'm a bit baffled.

Re: Cap1 CLI and 2-3 message

You won't get it until your Jan Statement cuts then. 7/6 to 1/6-they are extremely picky with the 6 months. I bet you get a letter and that's the reason it states. Try again on 1/7

Re: Cap1 CLI and 2-3 message

I understand what you're saying, but why would I get a CLI for one card that is identical to the other in regards to age and length of time from the last CLI but not the other if they are that picky? Both opened in January of last year, mid-credit steps CLI at the same time, and last CLI (credit steps) on 7/6. You'd think they'd both be denied or both be approved.

Re: Cap1 CLI and 2-3 message

Credit Steps CLI was an exception to the rule on time between CLIs and it could still be so. Its also possible you are at max exposure they are willing to give at this point in time.

Re: Cap1 CLI and 2-3 message

I hadn't thought about max exposure which makes sense considering that I have a QS1 ($2k), 2 QS cards, 1 at $2k and the other at $2250 (both PC'd from Platinums) and a Platinum secured card at 500. My goal is to combine the QS1 and the younger QS in March when the QS hits a year old. At one point I had 4 rebuilders at the same time since I got approved for a second Platinum before I PC'd the first one. Maybe that's the reason also

Every time I've gotten a 2-3 day message it was a denial.

And I've gotten quite a few from them.

Re: Cap1 CLI and 2-3 message

'Average monthly payment too low '. Gotta love the reasoning. On average the payments for both cards were the same. Oh well. If I don't get a CLI before I combine the cards I'm not going to stress. I'll try again later.
