Went on a bit of an app spree today with mixed results. Brought all utilization down to below 6% on mine and DW's accts.
Me: Current CC Barclay $9K, Cap1 Business 7K, SportsmanGuide 3K, Merrick Bank 2K
DW: Barclay 8K, Cap1 Plat 5K, Journey 4K, SportsmansGuide 4.5K
After going to cap1 approval site, we were both prequalified for cap1 ventureone and platinum prestige.
I was approved for ventureone at 10K, DW at 15K.
I went on to try Chase Freedom- 30 day msg. Discover IT- denial due to prior BK (6 years ago), Barclay Arrival - denied.
I stopped at this point.
DW: in addition to cap1 venture, shopping cart trick on overstock approval at 7K.
Very happy with the Cap1 approvals as these are now our highest cards and a 0% intro for 12 mos. I'm going to call in for Chase Freedom and recon if necessary, and see what they say.
Sorry- I mistakenly posted here instead of in the applications category.

That's ok ![]()
Decided to go back and try Cap1 again, this time the Plat Prestige- instant approval at 3K. and now ill stop ![]()
Congrats on the approvals..
Congrats on the approvals
Congrats on your success!
Congrats and good luck with recon!
I know I said I was done... but I had to try Lowes.. this morning I was instantly approved for $700. This wouldn't really get me anywhere, so I called and requested $25K as I saw directed to do on other posts. I got a counter of 6K!
That gave me courage to call Chase... spoke with the rep for about 5 min answering questions. The initial denial was due to BK (6 years ago) and she said lack of sufficient credit since then (which I disagree). anyhow, after she placed me on hold and spoke with the powers that be, no luck
Well, she said she'll have her manager consider a $1K limit, but due to the BK and since 2 chase cards were included, chances may not be good- but I should have a card or denial in 2 weeks.
Thanks again - going to go forget my SSN now so I can't apply anywhere else.
