Cap1 luv button CLI

Opened a Cap1 Platinum MC last year ($500 initial limit, scores were really rough back then and it was my first card in a long time/the beginning of my rebuilding).

At 6 mo I got the "credit steps" increase to $2000.  Yesterday was the 6 mo since the auto CLI.  This guy has been in the sock drawer now that I have better cards, but I decided to give the luv button a spin anyhow: $500 CLI!

Not much, but I'll take a SP CL bump any day!  Seems like they've been generous-enough with this card, but have been crazy tight-fisted on my QSO which is stuck at $750 (half of my next lowest limit).  Next I'll try to see if they will let me swap the limits so the 1.5% rewards are on the higher limit.  Anyone had any luck with that?

My credit repair journey started in December 2013 with an EX of 568.

With Capital One "swapping" anything is next to impossible.  They wouldnt work with me on anything that involved moving limits, combining limits, changing limits, etc.  This was both with CSR and EO...basically the answer was "not gonna happen".   YMMV though.

Endless, you might try again. Seems like they're in an extremely giving mood lately.

Thanks for sharing, Haha. I just got my credit steps bump. They also PCd me. So maybe 6 months I'll see more movement? Smiley Happy

Congrats!   You should ask if you can PC the Platinum to QS.  If the QS1 won't grow, either try the EO or close it.

Re: Cap1 luv button CLI

There is no swapping or transferring limits at Cap-1, it cannot be  done even at the EO level. Grats on your CLI Smiley Happy

Re: Cap1 luv button CLI

I contacted them a while back about an upgrade and they said it wasn't currently an option on this account.  So, today I contacted them on Facebook to see about the swap, they said they could most likely upgrade me to Quicksilver and wanted to call to look at what options we had with my account.

I'm glad that they're finally willing to work with me, but good grief it's a lot of run-around to get anything out of them!

Re: Cap1 luv button CLI

CapOne's "social media team" called me this morning to offer me (what they made out to be the deal of a lifetime) an upgrade to QSO for this account...so they added 1.5% rewards and everything else is the same (high interest and $19AF).  Beats a stick in the eye, but I'm still souring on Capital One.  Once my new cards age a little, I'm most likely canning these two.

Re: Cap1 luv button CLI

I tried the cli button and got denied because of not having enough activity on my account. I used it most recently this past December and for quite a bit. Paid it off the same month. It's my lowest limit card and highest interest rate (not counting Lowe's and VS). I'm thinking of letting it close on its own.
