Cap One is ok in my book. They sent me an "invitation" to apply for a CLI back in early November by both email and snail mail. Well I finally got around to responding. Just needed to verify income and employment status and VOILA! 4X CLI... YAY! Went from $500 to $2k. Card originally started at $300 and moved to $500 through the credit steps program. Thought I was going to have to go through the XO for a CLI but I never reached out to them at all.

Congrats, that's so great to hear! I thought Cap1 only increases by $500 for everyone when they hit the CLI button online. Good to know higher increments are possible.
Congrats! I wonder if Cap1 is reading these forums they certainly have changed in the last year.
Very Nice, Congrats!!
If you don't mind, how old was that Cap One card when you got the increase? A bit hopefull mine may do the same eventually ![]()

I sent a request thru facebook to Capital One. The response I received was, " We understand your frustration as we have been known for being a very conservative lender." Now I never used those words, I just asked if I could be bumped to 1k CL. So apparently they know they are known to be conservative, maybe they are trying to change it?

I recently hit the luv button and got a $1000 increase (2500 -> 3500).
Was a nice surprise, i was actually more-so expecting a denial and a "free" credit score.
