Capital One CLI question

i was approved for a CLI of 300 on my venture one card. That would bring the limit to 3600. I charge about 2500 a month and then pif before the statement cuts every month. If I wait another month is there any possibility of them granting a higher increase?

It seems that some people have had luck not accepting low CLI's, then requesting a new one a couple of weeks or more later and receiving higher CLI's than initially offered. I'm sure, as most credit related things are, YMMV.

Re: Capital One CLI question

Every 2 weeks I would go on and the same $300 CLI was there on my Quicksilver card, almost 2 months later it went to $500 and decided to accept.

Re: Capital One CLI question

Yeah you have to wait 6 months now. My got a $2000 CLI on my QS1 and only $150 on my platinum. I accepted it and then called Capital One customer service to see if they would match the CLI I got on my QS1 and she said once you accept it, they can't do anything and you have to wait till your eligible again.

My wife was repeatedly offered $150 on her card.  She would decline the offer, wait a couple days, then try again.  Within a week they came back with a $1000 increase that she accepted.

Same thing on my card too.  However the offer I accepted after about 2 weeks of waiting was for $3K.   Both of these cards are nearing the end of the third billing cycle.

Congrats on the CLI!!! Cap is box of surprises. I have see members all the time getting CLI every 3 or 4 months and others at 6 months mark. I am helping a friend of mine that she is in coming out of rebuilding stage. On her Cap one Silver card,  she went from $1500 to $5000 in 4 months.

Re: Capital One CLI question

Yep. This is pretty much what I did.

Was looking for a CLI on a $2k QS card. Wasn't given any increases for a while, then finally given a $150 increase

Declined it, and re-applied 3 days later. Offered a $2k increase to a total of $4k.
