My first time contacting the Capital One EO I was "thrown a bone" with some 1.5% cash back rewards but denied a CLI on either of my original Cap One platinum card or the recently converted Orchard Bank platinum card.
Both $500 limits for a LONG time. Capital One Platinum is probably almost 6 years at that limit, and Orchard Bank got two $100 CLI's in the past few years by calling them...
Anyway, I wrote a letter to EO asking for goodwill for a few baddies during a rough time in my life where I basically was tasked with caring for my siblings when my mom was getting her cancer treatments and all that...I got a call back from a real nice guy who really seemed to care (shocking, i know!). He said he would try to get the couple lates removed based off the reason they were there in the first place but couldnt guaruntee it...I was happy it wasnt a flat out NO like usual. Still waiting to hear on that...
Also, i merely mentioned my joke of a credit line on my Capital One card in the letter as an illustration of how im actually a good customer, and how ive been perfect with payments for so long that its nuts I cant get even a token CLI. He looked at my account history and agreed and said hes gonna try to do soemthing about that asap. That was thursday or friday...i log in today on monday and i have a $250 CLI on my account! Its pretty small but its something! Im probably a lot more excited than i should be over a $250 CLI but hey, its a step in the right direction with Cap One...
Just FYI for those who wanna try for a second time with the EO...he reccomended i "ask them" to match my highest credit limit so I said $4300 and if i would accept a lower offer. I said yes of course...i got $250 CLI to a total of $750...hahahaha...oh well! I'll take it!
