I have Amex, BofA, Chase, Barclays, Discover but cap one will not approve me. They were my first card, secured, $49 deposit, closed it over a year ago and they will not approve me. They even sent a pre approval to my ex wife who was an authorized user on the account who had no credit history and approved her for unsecured credit. What gives? I know most of you are thinking, CapOne, who cares, but I really wanted the venture for the 400 sign up bonus and the quicksilver before getting my bofa travel rewards. They even denied me for the 'newcomers' card last year. Anyway, what is the deal?
Capital One is a quirky lender.
Did you call to recon? or talk with EO?

Not sure they would be the best to reconsider (lots of folks have reported mixed results on this process, albeit lengthy). What reasons have they cited for the denial, and these would definitely be pegged with all 3 CRAs of course.

It happens. I was system denied for a Sony Card back in March (and I thought it'd be a sure thing). I reconned through the EO and was approved at the time for $1500 and their best APR of 13.9%. Last month, I got a CLI on that account through the EO to $2500.
Sometimes, their computer just doesn't know any better. If you've recently apped, I'd reach out to the EO to recon. Don't let those HPs go to waste!

Gee, that's the lowest APR i've ever heard of from CapOne.
Got 12.15% APR on a QS. Don't know how they hate me w/regards to other things

Ah that's how. You got it when money was "cheap"
