I got that same card in July 2013 with a $1k limit. I would use it for everything and then ensured that there was at least 70% of the credit limit available at the time the billing statement closed. After my credit steps program they bumped the limit up to $2,500. I just PC'd this card to a Quick Silver with no annual fee. In July it will be 6 months since Cap1 gave me an increase, so I have my fingers crossed. Congrats!!!
wow nice! congrats to both of you!
yeah this im hoping is my starter card no apr fpr a year and no first year 19 annual fee. my equifax credit reports dropped everything but my judgements and two easily payable but brand new medical collections.
thanks again for info ![]()

Denied on a Discover, Chase and AMEX sooo figuring CapitalOne must have something different from other companies going on, I tried for a CapitalOne QuicksilverOne card and got it! Same 300 limit as the CapitalOne Premium.
Now to wait a week for it to show up in the mail and buy my 3 credit reports with it!
Anyone have an idea why CapitalOne is so much more forgiving on instant applications?
Congrats on the Approval. ![]()
I too had the same card and started at a $300 CL, applied back in late Nov. 2013, 6months later I get an email with an increase of 2k. So now im sitting at a $2.3k CL. And im only 20 years of age.

Congrats on both of your Cap1 cards. I started out with the Platinum card just over a year ago. I was approved with like a $500 limit but when I received my card in the mail and logged online, they had increased it to $750. I used it and paid it in full never maxing it out for 6 months. Then at 6 months, I requested a CLI and was approved for an additional $3k. At my 1 year mark, I requested an additional CLI and was approved for another $2k. So now I am at $5,750. I PC'd the card from the Platinum to the no AF Quicksilver card a little before my 12 month anniversary date. And just today, I requested and had the APR reduced.
Just wanted to share that with you because if you use their cards well, you can get good cli's and cash back rewards. Since my Cap1 I have added other cards but you need to garden your cards for a while. I never applied for any other card for about 11 months allowing for a good history before I applied for my Discover It in Jan and then My Barclay, Amex and Target this May.
Cap1 is a great rebuilder card and while you are using it, you can focus on cleaning your credit report by PFD any outstanding baddies, writing GW letters for removal and requesting errors to be deleted. This forum is what helped me along with Cap1. Wish you the best in your credit repair!
Thanks!
Good to hear good stories!
I am hoping it works out very similar for me!
Plan to keep just these 2 until June/July of next year, their 0% APR runs out in 15 months so should be enough time I hope for a few CLI's. Cancel the platinum after I get some new cards and keep the Quicksilver (cause it has rewards)
Also partly because I cannot get approved for any other card offers
(3 unpaid judgements, 1 paid and 2 collections added end of last year I just found out about and no revolving accounts or any balances carried over reported yet)
Thanks again!
