@mezmemore wrote:Hi folks,
I am a bit new here. I have never posted, but I l leech the forum info on a daily basis. Over the past year I applied numerous amounts of knowledge gained here to address some things on my CR. For the past 12 months I have been actively watching my scores and paying on time for each and every account I have. I am glad to say that after months and weeks of hand wringing moments on "application" pages already filled out, I finally clicked submit.
I am SO GLAD I DID.
Last week I got a 5K limit with Citi and their Simplicity Card. I was so excited!!!
After that I thought ok this is fine, we are good. So an hour or so passed and I thought about all of the info here about "app sprees", so I figured what the heck. What is one more card anyways, right? I have this new one from City and a small 1500$ from my local credit union.
So I applied again. I was feeling lucky, and decided to go with the AMEX Delta Sky Smiles card. BING - Approved 5K limit. WOW
I was walking on sunshine at 2PM in Alaska, and right now, that is HARD to do being the winter time.
So I got to thinking. Gosh, 2 cards really is not a spree, why not go for a 3rd card? It has only been a couple of hours since I app'd for the Citi card.
I ran over to Barclays and app'd with them. I was not expecting them to give me a card since I app'd with them like 8 mo ago and was turned down.
Well what do you know, they approved me for another $5000 CL.
I was so thrilled.
I called it a day after that and decided these are all I need right now and will garden them religously.
I love all of the information everyone has placed here. I tell my friends and family all about this place and how much knowledge is here for those who are serious about getting good credit and maintaining it. They ask me questions every week and I am glad to say, that I can actually answer most of those questions.
This community is superb. Thank you all so so much!!!
BTW: Citi pulled my Equifax score and it was 15 pts higher than what is reporting here on my member account. Any idea why that would be?
Citi pulled Equifax
Barclays pulled Equifax
AMEX pulled Experian
Thanks again folks.
See you all around the forums.
