I went to my Oral surgeon yesterday and the work I need to have done will cost me $4,543, which was after maxing out all of my coverage. The good news was the implant that was done back in November was ready for a crown. So I called my general dentist to inform her that I was ready for that and was told my bill would be $1,630. So I was trying to figure out how I was going to pay for all of this work when her assistant told me about Care Credit.
So I went online and was instantly approved for $4,600 dollars. Yea me. Lol. But when I did a general reach on the internet the reviews of Care Credit were horrible;
Poor customer service.
Very high interest rates.
Charging interest rates during the interest free period.
Hidden fees.
So now I afraid to use the account. I just wanted to ask if anyone could tell me their experience with Care Credit? I trust the people on MYFICO more than the general public on the internet.
thanks
One more thing. How will Care Credit appear on my credit report? Will it be like a loan or more like a normal credit card.
So if it reports as a CC then I guess my util will take a big hit because I plan on using $3,600 of the $4,600 straight away. 78% util on CareCredit and 45% over all is not good. I don't plan on applying for any new cards this year but I am worried how my other CC companies will view that hight utilization.
I have had care credit for well over a year and have used it 3x. They have been nothing short of stellar. I call every month to direct which promo my payment should be applied to. Customer service has been great ! I went from 4k to 12k in 3 months. Call them with a purpose and they will help you with a CLI. After the only reason to use the card is for health care ! Good luck.
Thanks everyone for your inputs. I feel much better about using the card. I will have 2 diferent charges from 2 different dentist. Will they be looked at as one bill or will I have to make payments to both? My general dentist office asked me what terms I wanted I said 12 months. (Will pay that one off in 2/3 months since it is only $1,635)
