Bad news: I have terrible teeth and need 3 crowns
Good news: I got approved for CareCredit
I was nervous to apply because I have been working on my credit for the past 5 or so year, and there are still some baddies on my reports. A couple days ago I was able to get my only CO off, but I still have quite a few late payments that won't fall off for another few years. I also only have 1 card currently and pretty high UTI.
- Discover IT Chrome - CL $2,500
- Chase Auto Lease - 22 mo into 36 mo term
- Student Loans - $50,000 current
My real UTI is approx 78%, but I have seen estimates vary wildly. Currently TU is only showing 32% UTI.
Due to closed accounts, but current credit age is only 5 years.
It appears that CareCredit only ran a hard on TU, they didn't give me a score on the approval, but per CK its about 702.
My dentist estimated my out-of-pocket (after insurance) being around $3000. I've been super stressed that I wasn't going to get approved because Discover has declined and CLI request for the past year or so, I got a denial for a card with BCU last month, and I got a denial for CFU last week. And let's be real, I don't have $3k laying around. I saved up $1k, and have a plan to set some aside every paycheck, but its gonna take months for that.
But, I gotta get my stupid teeth fixed, so I got over my anxiety and applied anyway.
And guess what? IMMEDIATE APPROVAL!
What's even better: $16,500 CL!
This is offically the only time I have ever been excited about scheduling a dentist appointment. My dentist has a 12 mo deffered interest promotion plan, so with such a high CL, I'll even be able to afford their fancier sedation options without worrying about the upfront cost.
