Hi all, I am helping my girlfriend to build her credit and I am trying to see what do you think of approval odds for CSP card for the following profile:
Total accounts: 4
Car loan: 2 years old (30% paid off)
Capital One Quicksilver: $600 limit (1 years 7m)
Capital One Savor One: $1,300 limit (7 months)
Chase Marriott Bonvoy Bold: $11,600 (1 year 2 m) / Authorised User
AAoA: 1 year 4 months
Of course clean profile, no lates, no BK's.
Scores: 751 TU and 749 EQ
My worry is that average age is not too old, and cards where she is not AU have low limits.
If CSP is unlikely, any other suggestions ?
Are those vantage scores you're quoting? If so, you should see what her EX Fico 8 scores are (free at EX), and her EQ Fico 8 (free from myFico). Chase is likely to do a double pull, most commonly EX and TU. The thin file with lower limits could be an issue. If her Fico scores are 720+, you never know. The AMEX BCE (which you have) is a good card which she can grow more easily than those Capital One accounts.
Should be fine as under 5/24 it seems and score is good. As long as her income supports it she will likely be approved although she has a fairly thin profile w/regards to CC's. Only thing I would be concerned about is her other lmits are fairly low on her cards not counting the AY card. 5k is the minimum approval from chase on CSP but likely would as mentioned being approved assuming her DTI is decent, etc
Yes the scores are Vantage score 3.0 both through Credit karma

Go ahead and get those fico 8 scores for free, it truly is a huge difference sometimes. With her thin profile and not a lot of cards, I wouldn't risk a HP on anything you're not pre-approved for.
Student Loans=$35000, getting more
26k car loan @ 6.5%Agreed! I think we will look at Amex BCE vs CFU and choose one for her. And then 9 months later take a shot at CSP.
I am leaning towards CFU more than Amex BCE only because the points will live in the same chase environment and complement future CSP application even more and give her 25% more value on all points she earns. Even tho CFU literally mirrors benefits of Savor One + Quicksilver (so these 2 cards become useless with a CFU application). Does it make sense ? Or would you go for Amex BCE or something else ?
Update here - we applied for CFU and received $2,600 SL.
Next we will attempt CSP in ~ 9 months from today.
She should be approved, I was approved with a 673, I was at a 492 around 12 months ago

Consider growing the new credit cards limit before applying for another card.
