Chase CSP approval technically above 5/24

Screenshot_20250416_135641_Chase.png
After my last couple of posts, I assured myself I'd be gardening for a while, and then the 100k points offer kept lingering in my pre-approvals in my Chase app. My Robinhood Gold card approval put me at 5/24 but since I had just gotten it, it has not hit my reports yet and I figured now's my chance to get a Chase card before having to wait over a year to get back under 5/24. So now with this approval I am at 6/24, it seems I was barely approved because I believe 5k is the minimum CL(?) and the APR is almost max. Either way, glad to have this card so I can burn through the SUB and start accumulating points for down the line when I get the CSR,  although I just realized I will now have to wait two whole years if I want that SUB.

In the mean time, is there any actual use to this card? I think my credit card line up outshines this card in each category but I'd be interested to hear opinions on how to make this card worth the AF.

Re: Chase CSP approval technically above 5/24

Congrats on the approval, and yes $5K is the minimum starting limit on this card.

You already have other travel-focused cards in the Venture X and NFCU Flagship so yep it would be pretty redundant, but you could use it as a backup or as an alternate to your Venture X for car rentals as it also provides primary CDW coverage.    The 100,000 UR SUB isn't bad either ;-)

I'm in a somewhat similar situation with my Sapp Pref.  I'm in it mostly for the $1000 welcome offer.  I'll be taking the cash at 1cpp, not the travel at 1.25cpp.  To answer your question, you could book a hotel through Chase for the $50 annual hotel credit.  Also, while meeting your $5k spend, if possible, focus as much of the spend as you can on dining, grocery delivery, streaming for 3x.  And also travel at 2x.  5x for travel through the Chase portal.  Free membership to DashPass (I have no idea what that is).  Enjoy!  Smiley Happy
