I am first going to preface all of this with saying that I am active duty military so I do not pay annual fees for now. I do not see the need for the Platinum card and CSR when paying the annual fees, especially no other 20 year old should have both of them, but it does make a great way to have conversations with other college aged students about their credit.
My Card/credit history goes as follow:
September 2019 - Apple Card $250SL -> $500CL in May -> $2500CL in August (haven't spent on the card since that last update so the bureaus still think it's $500)
December 2019 - Discover it $500SL - still at $500
March 2020 - Amex Cash Magnet - $1000SL - still at $1000 :/ & Opened Checking and Savings Account with Chase for $600SUB - moved ~$15k into the accounts
June 2020 - NFCU SSL for $3500 and 60 months - paid down to $300 and also bumped down to $10k in Chase Savings
August 2020 - Amex Platinum card undefined SL
September 2020 - dropped down to $5k in Chase Savings (I am only saying this as I would think that this would hurt me with having such a new relationship with Chase and having less than $10k in the bank, since previously they knew that I could cover the minimum CL for CSR.
I was able to hit the SUB a little earlier than I expected on the Platinum card due to a couple of things. When I got the platinum card it was a soft pull and since it takes 2 months for Amex to report to the bureaus I realized that I had an opportunity on my hands. Chase would not know that I had been "seeking credit," they would not know that I was then at 4/24, and that I recently received a new card. I already needed to go to the Chase branch to convert my accounts to Military ones and decided to apply for the CSR with the banker at the same time. He submitted the application and then walked away to print some papers out about the bank accounts, and that left me anxiously waiting to hear. I figured I would be declined as to Chase I had a total of $2000 across 3 credit lines and only 1 year old credit. Needless-to-say when he came back he informed that I was approved with "only a $10k SL." I was/am still happy.
I received the card, but they did not disclose my credit score in the information. I know Amex said it to be 734 when they did the soft pull in August, and Experian shows 8 HP's, EQ 4 and TU 7. They pulled EQ, not sure about EX, but they didn't pull TU.
The day after approval I locked down my information from the Bureaus and other reporting agencies; halfway just for safety and the other half so Chase can learn about the Platinum card later on down the road when it's been awhile.
That is tremendous growth and diversification in such a short time. Kudos at your age. Thank you for your service!!
Congrats on approval and first Infinite card!!! 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻
Enjoy that new card!! Congratulations!!!
Thank you and the funny thing was that up until a year ago I said that I didn't need a credit card and lived by the Dave Ramsey approach. It was after talking with people more knowledgeable who said yes it's a game, and just go ahead and play it, but know the rules first so you don't get burned that I decided to start on my credit journey.
I really have all the cards that I want right now. I was thinking previously that I would add the amex gold card, but I've decided that I think chase UR points are more valueable so I think that I'm going to stick with them for now. I could see adding another couple cards down the road for different/better travel benefits, but my biggest motivator for this card was Costco only accepting VISA and I didn't have a visa credit card. The primary car insurance protection will also be an added plus, but Amex does have better international travel insurance from what I've been told.

^^^^ This says it all
Congrats !
Congratulations on your Chase Sapphire Reserve approval!
Grats on the CSR
If you qualify for the best terms they wont disclose your score as its only required when you DONT get the best terms they offer for a card.
Well considering they gave me 23.99% I would say that they should have disclosed then, since that's the WORST terms for the card. Interest rate doesn't bother me though since I pay off every month.
The funny thing is every card I've received I've got the lowest SL and highest interest rate, but I've just barely been able to get approved without received the dreaded waiting message or having to call recon.
Congratulations on your Approval..
