Chase Freedom, Approved with recon...but quick question

Applied online, and I got the 7-10 day "under review" message.  Decided to take matters into my own hands and call 1-888-270-2127.  Spoke with a very nice analyst and she approved me for a $1000 CL on a Chase Freedom card.  That'a a low CL for most of you, but considering my FICO scores were all in the mid 500s nine months ago, and I only had a $250 Fingerhut account for revolving credity of any kind before today, this is pretty good. 

One thing, though...since I had just opened an Amazon Visa through Chase less than 24 hours ago, she initially wasn't going to approve the Freedom card since they're only supposed to open 1 line in 30 days.  So she closed the Amazon Visa account, and approved the Chase Freedom.  I'm wondering what the impact will be on my credit score with the closing of the Amazon Visa when I had it for less than 24 hours.  The Amazon credit limit was only $500.  Does anybody know what this will do to my credit score, if anything?

Congrats on the approval.

As far as the closing of the Amazon account as long as they agree never to report the only impact should be from the HP.   I'm sure others will weigh in with a more concrete answer.

Congrats on the Freedom.

If your Amazon had the life of a gnat (literally) then it could be coded as "closed by consumer" depending on whether it reports to the CRAs.  There are two things that could happen dependng on the timing of closing the Amazon account.  Either it doesn't report since the Freedom will take it's place or, if it reports, you may want to check back with them and discuss the option of supressing the reporting since it was technically closed in lieu of the Freedom approval.

if you don't mind what exactly did you say and what questions were asked by them ?

i have a citibank that was denied but i would like to call and see if they would reconsider but i want to know what to say and have maybe some insight.

surge, regarding your questions about recon....

I did 2 different recons today, one with Discover, and one with Chase.  they both asked me to verify my income.  they both brought up my lack of revolving credit, history and I took that as an opportunity to explain that i've been working to fix my past credit mistakes for the past year, and that I have several student loans/installment accounts that are in repayment.  they asked about my employment history, and i used that as an opportunity to bring up the fact that i'm a teacher in a low income school district...that seemed to work well...both of the analysts were female, just fyi.  

i just stayed extremely polite and work in how I valued the customer service they always give (I've banked through chase since 2005, so that might have helped a little), and that's why i wanted to do business with them.  

i found both of them to be very nice and actively tried to find a way to give me credt.  both did, thankfully.  discover it for $1500, and chase freedom for $1000.
