Just called the number on the back of my card to request a CLI on my Freedom. Had the card for almost 14 months, initially with a $1k CL, and now at $2k. My Amex accounts have a combined limit of $30k but they're new (from the last 6 months).
I just went for it and requested $10k from Chase (which is a lot, but I figured go big or go home), and was told 7-10 days. I called the backdoor number to speak with a credit analyst and after several holds, he approved me for $5k. Not what I wanted, but it's enough to get my first visa signature, so I'm happy!

Was this a soft pull or hard pull?

By hovering on the names of the 3 CRAs
My Freedom was stuck at 4500 for 3 years. I applied for Sapphire approved $5k transferred $3300 to Sapphire from Freedom applied for CLI to $10k on Freedom stating I haven't had an increase in 3 years it was a HP BUT APPROVED!

I decreased my Freedom to $1200 And received a CLI OF $8800! Freedom is now $10k Sapphire $8300. I've learned so much from this forum.

It was a hard pull, they wouldn't give in on the soft pull.

It just blows my mind that someone with your scores, and a $25K AmEx, Chase will only approve a $3K increase on a card. But I gaurantee that if you applied for a new card outright, it would approve you for $8-11K. It's crazy!
I know, it's ridiculous. Amex is willing to give me $30k in credit, but I can't even get $10k from Chase. I've thought about applying for the CSP, but I can't justify the annual fee because I don't travel very often. Planning on applying for the Marriott soon enough though. Can't wait to get some metal!

Well it's $25k on one card and $5k on another. But I just followed the 3x CLI rule with them. My first card with them was $10k and I bumped it to $25k after 60 days - instant approval. Amex is awesome.
