Re: Chase Freedom Flex :: Approval Data Points :: Financial Review

Hello @gdale6! and to answer your question, yes Smiley Very Happy

I didn't want to do a product change from freedom to flex because you can never get a freedom again. So I am really curious to see what happens when the card expires in whatever year it does

Personally, I strongly considered PCing my CSP to a freedom so I could have 2, I would've had to do it before whatever date the flex was released

But since I have a thin profile and only had the CSP for 1.5 years I didn't want to spook them for taking their SUB and running to a no annual fee

So far the major difference I see is the visa offers still valid for the freedom (visa) but not showing for the flex (mastercard) for example 5% to 10% off at random stores

But I also haven't gotten the card in the mail yet and or activated the physical card, i'm sure I can use the "digital wallet" however you set that up

I love helping out and answering any questions I can, this forum has been great to me.

Keep the questions coming everyone!

@Anonymous

Get this, I just called the 1800 Discover number... I told them about my concern with them requesting a 4506 form and not accepting anything else.

He placed me on hold, but came back with detailed notes on an explanation of how, yes it is an irs request form.... but they will NEVER ask for it. It was getting passed down from his manager through their chat box

I asked them for that in writing, I told them, not necessarily that they would never ask, but if they did need to verify income that they would be fine with accepting an alternative that meets the cfpb guidelines.

Yeah, you guessed it, I was not going to get that in writing.

However, now thinking about it, if an individual were to apply over the phone and took detailed notes, they could always reference the call at a later date.

I think the reason the opp apped instead of PC is they are still eligible for a SUB on the Flex if i recall correctly Smiley Wink

I guess I never really took that into consideration, but I'm definitely not complaining about it.

It is definitely a relatively easy SUB to get too!
