I was checking the “request a limit increase” button on my Chase profile and my wife’s on Friday. I had 2 cards eligible for an increase, the Sapphire Preferred and the original Freedom card. My wife only has 1 card with Chase, the Prime Visa and it was listed as eligible. We both received increases on the Freedom and Prime just under 6 months ago in April.
Since it hadn’t been a full 6 months I was hesitant to make a CLI request. Also my Sapphire Preferred turns 6 months old in 3 days. I was gonna just wait until these accounts hit 6 months. Decided today to just go for it! I have a personal goal to get the limits on each of my cards at least to $10,000. I went with the Freedom over the Sapphire since I already am at $17,300 with that card.
Both cards got instant approval limits increases after submitting salary and mortgage info. Both were soft pulls. Freedom was increased by $4100 from $8800 to $12,900. The Prime card was increased by $2800 from $9200 to 12,000! Once the increase on the Freedom was approved the Sapphire card was removed as being eligible for an increase.
Freedom History:
Starting limit 2/2020: $4400 CL
4/21/23 $4400 CLI ($8800 CL)
10/1/23 $4100 CLI ($12,900 CL)
Prime History:
Starting limit 3/2020: $4600 CL
4/23/23 $4600 CLI ($9200 CL)
10/1/23 $2800 CLI ($12,000 CL)
Congrats on the CLIs!
Nice set of bumps, congratulations!
Congratulations on your new found liquidity!
As far as I am aware Chase CLi's are always a HP if you request them. You might want to check deeper on where it went. Usually I believe they are on Experian. Also they can take 1-3 days to show on your reports.
Excellent CLI's. Congratulations.
Congrats on the two Chase CLIs!

@zerofire Thank you! Sometime late last year they changed their policy. All credit limit increases with Chase are now soft pulls. You do have to unfreeze your credit profile but it is a soft pull. Both of our increases in April were also soft pulls.
