I wanted to let other folks know of my experience with Chase. I have learned so much from this forum so wanted to give back a little.
Little info:
140k salary
4 foreclosures on rental properties all 2.5 years old now
No other lates at all
5 year AAOC
No Mortgage due to above foreclosures but not too much longer for FHA approval
Credit score dropped to 580 after foreclosures
Cards: Pre-foreclosure
Belks- 2k
Lowes- 3600
Amex Platinum- NSL
Crap One Platinum- 500
Post- Foreclosure and after reading Forum:
Discover It- 3k joint with wife
Crap One QS- 1k
GE Paypal- 2k
I decided to app for some Chase cards as my scores are now FICO EQ- 664 and TU- 685. I first went for the Amex Green and was denied. I dont know my Exp score but a few months ago it was 635 and that is what they pulled. A little discouraged I went on here to see if I got pre-approval on Chase site. They suggested Slate and Freedom. I went for the Freedom thinking denial or low CL after the Amex denial. Instant approval 4,500. I was shocked. A few days later I got real bold and said to myself lets try for Sapphire Preferred as I do some travel with the job. I read on here that if you didnt have a card with 5k it would be impossible. I thought they would pull TU so felt confident somewhat in score. I got the dreaded 7-10 day message. I looked on here and found the backdoor number and called. The guy was extremely pleasant and asked me a few questions on income and asked about the GMAC foreclosure. I explained the foreclosure as divorce related on a joint property.
I was put on hold for 5 minutes. I expected denial. They guy came back on and said you have been approved for 7k. I was more then thrilled.
So for me the 5k limit on another card was debunked as my largest is 4,500 on my Freedom and I havent even gotten that card yet.
I hope this helps other folks as this forum has certainly helped me.
Now to the garden until house purcahse in the next year.
