Congrats on your recon. I remember many years ago, most CC had interest rates around 10% at the big banks then boom right to 24%. Sure missed those days, that why most people filed, couldn't keep up.
Thanks, padme! Yes, the 22.74 APR isn't the greatest, but that's okay. I'm not sure how Chase is about APR reductions.

From what it looks like.. the approval criteria MAY be quite easier than any other Chase card - you arent the first one on here to get into Chase with a BK showing via Amazon.. Now, the real test will be in another 60-90 days, when you app for another Chase card and see what happens...
Thanks, fltireguy! I think you're right. I know I woudln't get a different Chase card right now, but I am surprised that I even got this one! I'm just thankful to get my foot in the door and rebuild that relationship. I'm pretty sure it will be way longer than 60-90 before I go for another Chase card.

CRAZY! STUPID! LOVE!
Im thrilled for you Bella!! Know what you want and go for it, very inspiring. You know your fico family has your back and whether it had been $1 , $500, or $5000, its quite an accomplishment and just think now we have another card to whip out at our year end Disco ball, lol. ( psst, we wont tell our host , just slyly pull out that beautiful CAVS, to maybe help with vallet parking
)..
ENJOY this moment , its a taste of great things to come for you
Thanks, AJC! The funny thing is, this wasn't really a card I wanted (or so I thought), it was that thing that popped up on my screen saying, hey you can get $50 off. I was a sucker! But I do think that in the back of my mind, I had seen many FICO peeps posting approvals for the Amazon Visa, including you, my friend! And then I told Justa I had broken our pact to not app, and she was excited and encouraged me to recon, so I went for it. Can't wait for our Disco ball, I might actually do some dancing!
Congrats! It is an early start back in with Chase. Well done!
@Anonymous wrote:Hey FICO Gang, something stupid, then crazy, then wonderful happened this past week. I drapped the Amazon Visa Signature last Wednesday while birthday shopping, enticed by the $50 gift card offer, and was not immediately denied, but given the 30-day message.
Yesterday (Tuesday) I received the denial letter I was expecting. An amazing MyFICOer, Justagirl73, encouraged me to recon and just tell them the truth. I did, explaining employment history, the circumstances that led to BK, and that I just wanted a chance to re-establish a relationship with Chase. The rep, Laura, put me on hold to review. She came back on three times to let me know she was still reviewing everything. The fouth time she came on, she said, "Ms. G-------, we are only able to approve your Amazon card for $500, and you will receive your new card in 1-2 weeks." Only $500? I would have been happy with $1. Astonished, I thanked her several times before ending the call.
Stats:
11/2015 BK7 discharged
2/15/17 Apped Amazon VS
2/21/17 Denied Amazon VS (" Your credit report reflects a bankruptcy," "Delinquency or other derogatory relationship with our bank."
2/22/17 Reconned Amazon VS denial, and approved for $500 SL
Pulled EX Bankcard 687
I can't believe I'm back in with Chase 15 months after BK. It's unbelievable. But I'll take it.
PS I also want to give a shout out to Pizza1, who inspired me with her Chase approval and planted the idea in my head.
CONGRATS!
How much did you burn Chase for?
These credit testimonies . . . well, well done Bella, and even more so for sharing. I don't have your story, but I'm mighty encouraged either way, and I think your optimism puts you on top of the mountain, not virtual numbers on virtual paper. =D

Lol, i was feeling the same way on the Chase version of Amazon as i already had the Sync one, and no complaints there but i figured since it was a card that could be used everywhere, was a footing into the Chase world, and well is just fantastic looking, why not. Once i begin my reduction in ccs , this will certainly help reduce my Sync exposure. I think the one key that may help speed up that is if i get any Navy lovin later on in the year .
JUSTA know , no pun intended( or was it wink wink) Now that you got that foot in the door the only thing that matters is it in sandals, sneaks, or high heels haha
It sounds like the Visa makes total sense for you too! The more I think about it, AJC, this card is a really good addition for me. I wanted a Visa to use at Costco (plan to eventually close the NFL Visa and roll balance into JetBlue), and the QS Visa that was in my plans is no more. So...now I have my Visa (and a VS to boot), I do shop at Amazon, and I am back in with Chase. I really couldn't have planned it any better if I tried, which I totally didn't, lol.
I'm a flip flop kinda girl, and not justa in the Summer, but in Spring and Fall too. And a boot kinda girl when I have to be!
