Hey guys,
I just got a 10k approval with PENFED via my FICO 9 - they pulled a 758. 13 months from now I am looking to close on a home so I am looking to get the last couple apps out of the way before heading into the garden.
About 30 days ago I applied for CSR with no luck, I am looking at the Ritz as I am wanting to develop a relationship with Chase. Currently, I have the Amazon Chase card however it has sat at 1k for over a year with no luck on a CLI.
I am looking at the Ritz as I can meet the SUB requirements and I am hoping for a 10k SL to give me some room on the UTIL side of things.
My current FICO 8 - 723/746/730 - No Derogs - 10 inquires - 4 y AAoA Max CL Discover it 8k
What do you guys think?
<Mod Edit: OP I modified your title to reflect the approval and moved it to approval section. Feel free to change title if you would like>
Are you a Ritz or Marriott rewards program member and have a history of staying on those properties? That might help as they do ask for your member number on the application.
The fact they denied the CSR does not bode well for the Ritz approval.
Thx for the input, I am not a member, I also find it weird that the Chase Prequal page is an instant response with no offers.
If you're over 5/24 that could explain the CSR no-go. I was approved for the Ritz at lots/24 with lower scores if I remember correctly. I only had a few month old Amazon with them at the time too.
Do they use the same algorithm as primary Chase cards?
Ok Couldn't waiting, applied got the 30 day, then received the 30-day email. Reguardless of the answer I will be in garden :-)
Wish me luck ! ![]()
You should be good with those scores assuming your utilization is in check along with decent income and the rest of your profile supports it meaning you have some other decent size CL's close to 10k or over 10k etc. Not a hard card to get really. Had for several years, but the CSR beat the pants off it and with the recent changes to marriott/spg I can't justify it again now myself until the benefits get a bit of an overhaul hopefully on this card. The sub is good when 3 nights comes up

I'm holding out to see if the 3 night offer comes up then i will jump on got plans for them lol.
Update - Received a VM - Called back with the reference number provided - They verified that I had applied - put me on hold for about 30 sec - came back with an instant approval of $11,100 - Officially my highest card at this point.
This was going to be my last card but the Venture card I hear does good limits - Do I go for it?
