Hey everyone,
I've been a reader of this forum for a long time and the advice i've gotten has been incredibly helpful! I have my eyes on the CSP but am not sure if it is a good time to apply. I have the following:
Capital One Platinum: $500 since 7/11
Discover More: $2,500 since 11/12
Chase Freedom: $4,400 since 10/13 (started with $2,200, doubled in February)
AAoA: 1 year 11 months
Creditkarma Score: 754
Utilization: 7%
Never missed a payment
I really want the CSP because of the signup bonus and rewards structure. I'll also be traveling later this year so 0 forex would be great. It seems though that Chase wants to see a card with at least $5,000 CLI already there and they don't want to be the first to issue it. However, I've banked with Chase since 2011 - maybe that would help?
What do you guys think, is it too early to apply for the CSP? Maybe get a different card first with a higher limit?
im guessing people are gonna ask what your scores and utilization are
Yes.. how could I forget. Updated the first post!

Chase SWA was my first $5K CL after rebuilding when my highest CL was $750. As a matter of fact they are still my only $5K CL and they have given me that twice. I think they look a lot at your performance with them. Plus they are great on recon. I would try it for sure.
You have a 6 month-old Freedom card and low utilization. You're already in.
Seriously, once you have an account with Chase, it becomes more about your internal score than your FICO reports.
Just go ahead and apply.
Right now.

Welcome to ythe forum
1) Chase in most cases does not factor banking relations into CC approvals
2) The fact that you've had the Freddom 6 months is good and may offset the 5k line but I would wait 2 more months or close to when you travel to app just to be safe
guys i dont wanna take over this thread but could someone tell me real quick if its possible to switch from a freedom to a saphire without starting a new account?
