I'll share and add as another data point - just got approved for the CSR today for $32k! Brings my total exposure with Chase to $62k over 3 cards. They must really love me?
Timeline:
- Monday: applied in-branch for the 100k points sign-up bonus, was told it would take 2-3 weeks for a decision. Banker tried to expedite on the spot by calling the lending department, and was told not possible to expedite
- Tuesday: checked status via automated phone, status was "decision in 30 days" which from what I could tell on these forums, was a good sign
- Wednesday (today): called in to the automated phone again, status changed to "7-10 days". Uh oh
I decided to talk to a live person. First rep told me the app was declined, and that they'd get me over to the lending department to see what they could do to overturn the decision as it did not appear to be a decline for a cedit-related item? I figured maybe I reached the maximum exposure limit and even stated I'd be fine with re-allocating my existing limits if that would help.
Lending department wanted to verify some information (text message with code to my phone, and verification of other info in my Chase account), then came back saying APPROVED! No reallocation of lines necessary. Then another transfer as I wanted the card expedited, which they were able to do.
Credit profile:
- Pulled Experian, FICO 8 score of 813 at time of pull. Inquiry dropped it to 810
- 10 year history, 5.5 year AAoA
- 0/24 credit cards (so no worries about the 5/24 rule with Chase), most recent account is installment 15 months ago, 0 inquiries prior 12 months
- Only non-mortgage debt reporting: $60k auto loan, $10k student loans, and <$500 credit card balances
- Other credit cards in my portfolio: 10 others with major issuers (e.g. Amex, Chase, Citi, Discover, Fidelity, etc.) with a mean and median CL of ~$17k
Starting Score: EQ 773, TU 766
