I must be the luckiest MFer ever, applied for the Chase Sapphire Reserve after getting the Amex Platinum approved around 25 days ago. I Just finished Basic Training for the Air Force around 25 days ago so I'm trying to get setup with all the statement credit travel cards that waive the annual fee for Active Duty. I figured I was gonna get denied on this application but foolishley (or fortunately) applied for it anyways figuring the worst it would do was ding me for a year or so which is how long I was gonna wait to apply for it anyways. I got the "We'll let you know our desicion by U.S. Mail. This could take up to 30 days" message, to my dissapointment. I did a little research after recieving that message and thought I was done for because I was negligent in my research and found that because it's a Visa Infinite class card the minimum CL is 10k, which is far higher than my other cards. I figured I got denied for that reason and that was the end of it. They called me yesterday (around 12 days after application) to ask a few questions to verify my identity and new address, and then I got an email 15 mins later saying I was approved. I don't yet know the CL or APR but frankly I don't really care all that much because anything 10k+ is going to wildly help me with my overall utilization. I also don't plan on ever carrying a balance. I am super stoked. Definitly gonna take advantage of the $300 travel credit and try to use it before the end of the year! Happy Thanksgiving!
