Chase Slate 30-Day message - UPDATE: APPROVED!!!

Earlier this month just before I went to garden I app’d some synchrony cards (MC/Visas) and was approved. I was happy. However, emboldened by my success I app’d the Slate card. As soon as I hit submit I knew it was a mistake. I had a lapse in common sense and judgment and forgot about the 5/24. Stupid move.

I got the message that they needed to review and if approved I will get the card or a letter within 30 days. I threw a temper tantrum and cried like a little girl and then moved on. Today I was reading here about someone else who got approved for Slate with a whole lot of inquiries and a score similar to my own. That got me to thinking so I called the # to check the status. Every app I have had with Chase still shows pending and gives the 7-10 message. I have only gotten one denial letter and that was for the Disney card I app’d since it doesn't fall under the 5/24 so I assumed this one would be a flat denial too.

I was looking through my trash e-mail today and found an e-mail from Chase from when I app’d the Slate and it said it needed further review, 30 days, don't resubmit, don't call us, we'll call you kind of thing. That was 15 days ago. It occurred to me I never got that from the other chase apps, just the 7-10 day web page after apping and letter of denial. I keep all my emails so I went through them with a fine tooth comb and sure enough, no emails for the other apps. I searched on the app date according to Chase’s status number and up to 3 days past the inquiry date on my CR which is Experian . Nothing.

My question is, could this be a good sign that I got the 30-day e-mail message rather than the 7-10 day? I am not hopeful since the check status number says it’s under review and I will receive something in 7-10 days just like the previous apps. I am also not sure I really want it. I want in with Chase and I did take the hit but I am not excited about another new account. I see now why folks caution patience and don't really condone app sprees. It doesn't help that in my past any message other than approved was a sure denial.

Re: Chase Slate 30-Day message

I can tell you from my experience currently my ritz app was on the 30 day message for 22 days. Today it switched to 7-10 days which is typically the kiss of death.  I called talked to lending and found out it was declined because of a chase account I never even had and a mortgage that I haven't had for 4 years.  I convinced her to pull my trans Union which showed my mortgage wasn't mine anymore which she confirmed was an error on experian.  She than ran the app with the case late account taken off since I said it wasn't mine.  She came back and said I have been very good the past few years and very low utilization. She was recommending me for approval and doesn't see why it will not but one more person has to look at it.  She said even with the chase account since it was so old and I said it wasn't mine she said it shouldn't matter.  I honestly think if it's the 7-10 day message just call if it's 2 week or 30 day wait it out.

Re: Chase Slate 30-Day message

I couldn't take it anymore. On the phone with them now. It was declined. He asked if I wanted to Recon and I said yes. Answered some quetions and waiting on a decision now. If I get it I am sure it will be a very low limit. But, they already pulled the HP awhile back so I might as well fight for the damn thing. More info to come...

Re: Chase Slate 30-Day message

I'm in Jaspers hands at Credit Solutions to "finalize" the application. On hold. This is like waiting in the principals office.

Have your plan before you call. This is my first successfukl recon but my 2nd attempt. The first was also with Chase over the Disney card. It was a miserable failure. Nick and Jasper on this go around were pretty cool. I think its the luck of the draw.
