Well, came on here the first time in 10/2012 (as MuadDib...couldn't remember the password) asking about a CLI on my first non-secured card in many years. Fast forward 3 years and I have a 700+ FICO, Barclays Arrival+ (they recently gave me an auto CLI to $13.5k before my "vacation"), and Chase just aproved me for $13.5 for a Slate card. (There are also a couple of new retail cards in there for a bed and ring...but I got those stricly for the 0% interest).
Many other exciting things have happened such as moving to Manhattan, getting married, moving into a tiny Manhattan studio together, and buying all the things my wife has wanted (ahahaha, ok, ok...maybe I wanted/needed some of it as well
). This is why I now have the Chase Slate card; as much as I've tried to keep the Barclay's card @ $0....it's been impossible to get there since we got married.
Quick story on the Chase card, I was initially only approved on Saturday for $7.5k. I called in to recon today and they said I had to go through CS and put in a CLI request which means another credit pull. This was pretty dissapointing, and I told them how Barclay's didn't do this to me. I then spoke with CS and pointed out that I felt that giving me 1/2 of what Barclay's was giving me was just dumb on their part (if they want me to use the card at all...). Anyway, after talking to CS and putting in the CLI request, I was automatically approved for the $13.5 amount I requested to match my Barclay's card. Wondering if I should've asked for more? ![]()
Now it's time to buckle down, stop eating out so much, and get this balance paid off before the holidays hit!!
