This was a good get. I'm about to apply myself - that SUB is just too good.

I read that being a card member opens up more options when booking award flights. Just think what 100K miles will take you!

Exactly, I think this card pays for itself even after the first year. And just considering this SUB it gives you a wild first year value so I thought I really want it and I live in the city where United hub is located soo...it was just a yes as soon as I saw this card.
I was expecting to get denied and do a reconsider but seems that maybe its not hard to get approved for this one as they are seeking new card members being a new card to the market.
I just got another card 2 weeks ago and was expecting a rejection just due to another account just being opened.
