@Rhaeny wrote:OP, call back and talk with someone else tomorrow. There have been many people, including myself, who called in for more than one recon. If I would have taken what the first agent I talked to as gospel, I would have never called back again and wouldn't have gotten my card. Basically I was declined and the 1st rep told me to wait for 2 years until my current accounts aged a bit. I had a few drinks, got my liquid courage up, and called back about 4 or 5 hours later and got another representative that approved me with a $5K limit.
Ummm all of this just happened yesterday so I encourage you to call back and plead your case to as many agents as you can until you get what you want. Just remember their names and voices in case you get the same person again....LOL!
+1
I wouldn't count on an automatic credit limit increase. There's no guarantee it will happen, and even if it does, the increase usually isn't large.

Are you guys saying to call and let them hard pull me again? Or call and talk them into it without a hard pull?? Maybe that's not even possible.
What we are suggesting is that you request another review of your credit profile based on the credit report they used to grant you the card. Insist that they re-consider your credit limit without making another inquiry.
Chase has most of mine business account but i got to tell you some reps in there are just so untrained that makes you wonder some time how they got the job there in the first place at Chase. As far as you having to much available credit? Not really.Your credit limits are modest at best.
Call again and ask to speak to a senior credit analyst
They will not do a second inquiry as long as is with in the 30 days of the application.Just in case ask them not to
ask them politly to reconsider and if denied, thank them for their time and try in 6 months again. It will be a hard pull
Chase and lots of lenders do automatic CLI once in a while,i dont know what the credit analyst was talking about

Most of them are making minimum or slightly above minimum wage. There's only a very small select few out of the entire company's phone service that are paid decently, and they're the ones who usually needs to make very important decision and are higher up in the food chain.
As far as you having to much available credit? Not really.Your credit limits are modest at best. It depends on a peron's income. For example: 50k CL with 30k income? that's too much credit. Not saying that's the case for OP, but different banks have different rules/limits on this. Of course, that CSR may just be spouting nonsense or just trying to get OP off the phone.

I just tried this for CSP myself, was told it will be another hard pull. CSR told me I can feel free to go ahead and do it though if I am confident, and said he has seen cases where people get an instant CLI right after getting the card.

Chase CLI is sporadic like others have said. If you start with a toy limit of 500-1000, your chances of auto CLI is a lot higher. For starting balances >2000, I haven't seen anyone said they got an auto CLI, but then again the sample on this forums cant speak for the entire population.
