I got home from a birthday vacation to find a Pre-Selected offer for the Citi AAdvantage MileUp waiting in my mailbox. I have been waiting a while to get a Pre-Qualified mailer from a legitimate bank (I just shred the CreditOne and Merrick mailers). I also know that I recently had two offers (EveryDay and Blue Cash Everyday) show up when I checked for Pre-Quals at AMEX. Since it was my birthday weekend, I decided to treat myself to a couple of apps.
And the results are:
Citi AAdvantage MileUp Card - Approved - $3800 CL
AMEX EveryDay Credit Card - Approved - $500 CL
AMEX Green Card - Declined
Stats at time of apps:
EX - 681
TU - 663
EQ - 649
UTIL: <1% (All but one card with small balances, <$10 each)
I am pretty happy with the results. The $500 CL on the AMEX EveryDay is not discouraging because I have my foot in the door with AMEX. I plan to apply for the Gold Delta SkyMiles or Hilton Honors after 6 months of responsibly managing the EveryDay. I applied for the Green Card because doing so on the same day was not going to create a second HP and I have heard that AMEX will approve 1 Revolver and 1 Charge card without making you wait 90 days.
Ok, now I am seriously going into the garden for 120 days!
