@CreditMagic7 wrote:The Citigroup Diamond Preferred was my own very first Citi card and it came in the mail as a preapproval. They started the limit at $800 and at the time i only had US Bank ($2K) and Discover Card ($1400) so you can see the progression of those were downward in series at the start.
After only 2 statement cuts i went out on a limb and contacted their UW to place a request for a increase, It was Christmas season about like now. After some days i got a call back from that Dept with the good news! they approved a new limit of $2000 effectively matching US Bank.
After 12 months the Citi DC card entered the picture (nice timing) and i was able to PC over to it. A week earlier i had just got a SP CLI on it too so that helped when doing the PC.
So Congratulations UncleB on this latest success and thanks for the data points that can be useful to others.
Thanks so much my friend! ![]()
Thanks also for your data points as well... it's good to see that a PC to another product from the Diamond Preferred was not a problem! ![]()
Congrats! If it were me I would have taken the HP and aimed high! Just sayin. Especially after your score increases.
Also like the DP quite a bit. Have one in the house. It gets lots of 5% off $500 mail offers for categories that change constantly!

I don't doubt what you're saying a bit... I actually had a 'real' LOL reading your post!
For the record, you have an excellent point! Honestly if it meant more to me I would take the HP and be "done", but for the moment it's really a SD card anyway, especially until I get the BT paid off (which due to the 0% I'm not in a hurry to do).
I guess you could say I'm back to "unofficially" gardening; meaning that while I'm not averse to taking a HP for opening a new account I'm not planning to take one for any CLIs right away, and I'm biding my time by seeing how many SP CLIs I can get. You know me, though... it probably won't be too much longer before I app for something. ![]()
Thanks again as always for your kind words and encouragement! ![]()
