Hi, Everyone.
I just got approved for a Citi Rewards+ card at $5800 limit. My scores have taken a hit this year due to having to carry pretty high balances on my cards because of unexpected rises in insurance costs (homeowner's insurance literally doubled on my two homes). But, I've kept on time payments and have been very careful not to miss anything. My current FICO 8 scores are EQ690 TU690 and EX696. Not sure what the bankcard scores are because I don't get my updated 3B until Sunday. Either way, nice to get a little more padding to my utilization rate. This was through the pre-approval search on Citi's site. I had several offers and considered doing the Diamond whatever card, but thought I might get a better limit on the Rewards+. Anyone think this was a bad decision and maybe I should've went with one of their other cards?
That’s Terrific!! Congratulations on your Approval!!👏🏼🍾🥂
Not sure your SL would be different with the other card mentioned.
Congrats on your new card.
they never have any pre approved offers for me.
What report did they pull?

you can get the bonus and then ask to product change to one of the better cards, like the double cash or the custom cash. you don't need to wait a year or anything. just get the bonus and after you've been paid out for the bonus, ask for a product change.
the rewards+ has a specific use, but it has to be used alongside other citi cards

If the homes are in states where insurance companies can use credit scores in the determination of rates, you may be in for another nasty surprise come renewal time.😕
I hope you are reshopping those rates each year, through multiple sources. Here in Texas I have to switch every 1-2 years to avoid the attempted doubling or more they try to do.
In 17 years in my current house, I'm on my third time with Allstate where I started, even have the same login info!🤣
Nice SL, congratulations on your approval.
Congratulations on your Citi approval!

Just got the update. It appears they pulled my EQ report.

Oh, I have been shopping rates. I'm in Oklahoma and the doubled rates are half of what every other company was wanting to raise them too. It's ridiculous. With the escrow shortage factored in, I'm going to be paying $29,000 this year for insurance. It was $10,000 last year. This should be criminal.

So this isn't really that good of a card then? I mean the SL is nice and gives me a little buffer on my Util%, but I would like it to be a decent card too.
