I was hoping for the MasterCard version, but hey, I'll get what I get and be grateful! I am also pleasantly surprised about the $800 limit (which is good for someone like me!).
I use too much gas these days and Shell's 10 cents off a gallon seems tempting. Gas prices are not too high here so that 10 cents can end as high as 4-6%. Still, I know there are better options, but eh, I'm happy, especially with the highish limit (for my standards) which will help my overall utilization. Interest is high, but I don't plan on carrying a balance.
DATA POINTS:
They pulled Experian, FICO 8, score of 667.
High util (70%, gradually going down, is from some closed CCs that I am paying off from a low-interest payment plan)
A 10-month-old 90 day late
low income ($23K)
Long credit history, long AAoA
This is a card that I will actually use. As I said, I was hoping for a Mastercard but this will still be okay. I'm just glad it was approved!
I am closing my Green Dot secured card shortly and hope to apply for a Navy Federal AMEX soon (for the 3% off gas and groceries).
Grats on the card. At less than 2 a gallon its a better card to have than one at 5% rebate for gas.
Sounds good, as long as it suits your needs. I have the Shell Fuel Rewards card, which is not a payment/credit card, just a loyalty card that gives a 5-cent/gallon discount. Congrats!
Edited to add: I originally thinko'd it as a 5% discount ... it's a 5-CENT discount!

Thanks!
I did some math and yes, at $2 a gallon or less it's pretty good. I am on an existing Shell Rewards program where I get 5 cents off already. It looks like it would be about the same to use this card as it would be to use a 3% off gas card with the 5 cents off Shell rewards program. (I don't think I can qualify for any 5% off gas cards right now.) So I'm not losing out by using it and I get the $800 added credit limit (which means a lot to me!).

Thanks. I have that Rewards card too. I would have preferred the MC but beggars can't be choosers! I'll definitely be using the card, that's for sure!
"Citi Shell Fuel Rewards Gas (store) Card Approved for $800!"
I just realized I said the loyalty card gives a 5% discount - it's a 5-cent/gallon discount - just so nobody reads this and gets overexcited

I just got $0.30 cents off a gallon last night, with a Citi Shell MC (FR Gold Status)
I have the regular fuel rewards card for 5 cents off per gallon but I know during college football season and on Tuesdays only, this goes to 10 cents off per gallon. I wonder if it is just a local thing or others have this offer.
