I guess, by and large, I don't see why people have to post every single approval and/or CLI that they recieve. Ok, if you're rebuilding and just got your first card or something, I get it.
But for people who already have 10 or 20+ cards, do you really need to create a new thread about your $500 CLI on one of them, or your approval for another card? I mean, what can anyone really say other than "congrats"? You aren't rebuilding, it's not as much of an "achievement" anymore. I don't say this to be rude; it's a reason I don't make threads for my CLIs or such. I just feel it's kind of pointless.
I just feel like the threads are kind of limited in the type of response you can get. I understand not wanting blanket congrats but for most cases, what is there to really say? If there are unusual circumstances surrounding the approval that might help others as a reference point, I get it, but making a new thread for every small increase or card just lends itself to spam congrats unfortunately.

I would say that the primary reason for doing it is to share information. Nobody needs to create a thread over anything.

My point is that we complain about the congrats spam, but the people with several CLIs in a day and making a separate thread for each increase are just as guilty.

1. I haven't complained about people saying "congratulations"
2. I don't see a problem with making separate threads for approvals
3. Yes I prefer (a) informative approval posts, which give you good usable data, or other information people might want to know, and (b) good congratulations posts which are personal and give some explanation of why the poster believes congratulations are in order.

I agree....ever since I got my credit score up really high, I kind of expect to be approved for cards I apply for. I am not sitting there hoping for an approval and jumping for joy when I recieve it. Now if I was actually to be approved for a AMEX centurion card...I would post that. I would even post when I recieved the invite for that card. Now if it's someone who has gotten in credit trouble like I once was, and they recieve an approval, that is a big deal to them, and should be.
I'm wondering if anyone ever reached out directly (via PM) to the suspected thread bombers. Or if this post en masse was their first notice. I would have preferred the former. May have saved some confusion.

Agreed! Thanks for catching that one!

I'd like to say "big deal" to a lot of them. $200 CLI....wow.
