I agree is this your actual  FICO score from Experian's website  I have never seen that score range from a BK discharge that soon?  Your BK discharged in august of this year ???@_NERD

Yes. It's weird Credit One HP'd EX on the 3rd with a score of 763 but my actual EX FICO score was 550 when I logged into my EX account on the Experian app on my iPhone.  The Credit One HP is on my EX report dated 10/3/2022. All my burned revolving accounts are correctly labeled IIB and the ch7 filing itself shows up in the public records section of my EX report.

I have to agree with previous posters that 763 is totally out of step from the norm this soon after bk7. As an example i am close to 3 years post bk7 dc and im about to break 700. But in this wacky credit game anything is possible. I recently saw a poster say his fico was around 730 a few months out of bk7. when i questioned him on it the 730 was his only score that high, the others were barely 600.

Glitches can happen i guess, i never get that lucky.

Best of luck  to you,.

@_NERD Thanks for the pic in both threads. It explains it now. So you can change your badge now to your FICO score. It threw many of us for a......major huh? Smiley Happy Thanks again.

looks like that could be an experian bankcard score or something; i wonder if that particular score just doesn't have the bk on it.

congrats on the approval and good luck on your rebuild!

Yes it threw me for one too. I'm happy with my first approval.  I look forward to a responsible credit building journey.

Thank you. Should I buy a FICO 3B Ultimate report to see all 20-something FICO scores?  I don't expect it to show anything exciting given the recent ch7 DC.

Was it typo in your badge at 763?Right out of BK? Even CK wouldnt come up with that score. Pic please?

Thanks for the screenshot. There are are a couple things that make me think that's Credit One's internal score, not an official FICO score generated by Experian: The first is standard FICO scores range from 300-850, while industry specific scores, like the auto and bankcard variants, range from 250-900 (see here). I don't know of any FICO scoring models that range from 301-900, which suggests it's not an official FICO score. Secondly, they don't mention the scoring model. While it does state that Experian is the source, they don't explicitly say they're using the score from Experian. The phrasing is sufficiently ambigious that it could mean they used the credit report from Experian to generate their own score. Finally, there have been reports of people with clean, aged, and thick files (and very high FICO scores) being denied by Credit One, while people with major recent derogatories are often approved. It makes sense that someone in the rebuilding phase would have have a high internal score at Credit One, because that's their target customer.

My chapter 7 discharge was filed at the end of August with 243K in credit card debt discharged (we got to keep the house and 2 cars). I'm just over 30 days post DC. Saw in a forum post titled "HOW TO: From BK7 discharge to 700 in 24 months or less!" steps to take to rebound from Ch7 and the first card I was advised to app for was this one.

Oddly enough EX says my FICO score is 763. I might need to buy a FICO 3B Ultimate 3-in-1 to verify my FICO scores because when my Ch7 filing hit my credit reports at the end of May 2022, my EX score dropped to 550.

DW received an instant approval for this same product with similar data points and a SL of $400, but Credit One didn't provide any credit report data used to make the decision.  Next up in the How-To post: $1,000 credit builder loans.

You are doing great! Congratulations 🎉👏
