We wanted to purchase home appliances for our new home and narrowed down to sears as it has best deals for the Labor day sales.With price matching and additional discounts Sears seems to beat Lowes and HD. So went applying for Sears Citi MC card with DW profile.
After applying Online app, it came back asking us to call the Sears credit department with reference number.
DW called them and answered few verification questions and finally heard them say "You're approved with $4k credit limit. Congratulations. "
We are so happy for the SL since our total purchase price came around $3.2k
Thanks much for all providing the good information about applying this card.now I will put that payment before it cuts the statement date. So that it would not hit the Credit bureaus with over utilization.

I had the Sears MC up until a year ago. They always soft-pulled my report when I ask for a CLI. You should wait a couple of months; Citibank is strangly tough on Sears cardholders. YMMV, of course.
