(blue cash) which I got in Jan '18, so I applied for the Amex Delta Blue today. I went through the Amex site and checked my pre approvals first.
I got a starting limit of $2,000. They pulled my fico from Experian. (686) also it was a soft pull.
Fingerhut $3,600, (2) Capital One Platinum $500 & $1,500, Capital One Quicksilver $750, Chase Freedom $2,000, Chase Sapphire Prefferred $5,000, Amex Blue Cash $500, Amex Delta Blue $2,000, Citi Double Cash $2,500, Discover it $5,100.
Congrats on your approval.

Nice, but, I wonder why you didn't try for the gold? If it ended with denial you coulda apped for the blue anyway.
I've read that the underwriting is basically the same so he should have been approved for a gold, but that being said, I wouldn't apply for the gold because I don't fly Delta enough that the annual fee and perks would be worth it.
Congratulations!! That card will grow with some TLC.

Annual fee is waived year 1 for Delta gold card and you can downgrade to blue in year 2 so basically higher SUB and perks for a year for free.
Good point.
