I have had an AMEX ED for almost 2 years with $5,000 CL. I never played the 3X game. Recently I applied for the Platinum Delta, approved with a temporary $1K when I activated the card it showed $43,000.00 CL.
Holy Moly! Congratulations!
I also have a BCP at $15K. The 6% for groceries is awesome.

Congrats OP. The last several AMEX that I've gotten give me the on-line temporary number with a lower CL, but they've told me up front my final limit. The EDP was $10k temporary and said $15 when the card arrives. It sounds like if they don't tell you up front what your final limit is going to be, then the roulette wheel is still spinning to decide what it will be. "Come on 45! Baby needs a new pair of shoes!"
LOL! Maybe two pair!
Congrats on the approval. I just got this last month. If you sign up online it will show you your full CL. You're temp limit will show up as the available credit.
congratulations

Congrats on the Amex!
